When The Pipers Call (Day 2 of The 12 Days of Poetry Challenge)

Greetings once more!  Day 2 of the 12 Days of Poetry, where I use the 12 days of Christmas song (in case you are unfamiliar see https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Twelve_Days_of_Christmas_(song) )as inspiration for a series of 12 poems dedicated to reimagining the series of 12 gifts given in new contexts counting down from 12 till 1.  Today is gift 11:  11 pipers piping.

I hear the music
Before their eyes
Appear upon horizons

Their call is ominous
Oozing with gelled
Simplicity of mind

They are lockstep
Unyielding and
Unfailing to decree

That their cry
Is more purposeful
And better all around

They burnish
The passion
Of someone else’s truth

See them browbeat
The dead weight
Of contrary groupthink
